MUED 398 or MUED 498 should be taken for 11 credits
Complete 300 level of study in voice, piano, or another instrument.
Perform in juried public performance at appropriate level.
Take at least 7 credits of large ensemble on your major applied instrument (piano applied majors can choose a choir or instrumental ensembles). Required every semester enrolled except student teaching (1 credit per semester). (See Note 3).
Piano majors: 1 credit from MUS 328 may be taken in lieu of large ensemble upon course offering.
In addition, complete one of the two following elective banks which also each comprise the Certificate in Choral Music Teaching OR the Certificate in Instrumental Music Teaching in order to complete the Bachelor of Music in Music Education. You may elect to complete both, but completion of track that corresponds with your major instrument is required.
